Fairly serviceable as far as made-for-television monster movies go these days, I reckon, especially for those with low expectations on a Saturday night. Madison wakes from another nightmare encounter with Sandman to find bruises on her arm. Madison summons Sandman, who kills Wyatt. Given his rapidly deteriorating mental state, one has to wonder how horribly her relationship with him would have eventually ended even if Madison Smolik never entered their lives. Abigail comes to the house to threateningly compel Claire to turn over custody of Madison voluntarily. One Week Later — Claire brings Madison home.
You have to pick a lane if you expect the audience to have a vested interest in her well-being one way or another. Not much in the way of creativity and what we get is a slow moving film that is predictable and painful. Claire finds Madison alone at a diner. For the most part, they are suitably lit and well shot enough to be effectively creepy. We do, however, have operational costs and want to expand our offerings. However, there are some genuinely good moments in the film, albeit all in the first third. After filling in her boyfriend, Claire and Wyatt ask Madison about Colton.
